Most of us have used it. A lot of us have suffered through it. And in untrained hands, PowerPoint can immobilize the most energetic class or audience. But PowerPoint isn't to blameit's just a tool for visual communication. Barry Casey, Interim Director of the Faculty Development Center, will share principles of good design that can make our presentations effective and memorable. Participants will learn the following: * Why less is more; * How simplicity, brevity, and clarity answer most presentation problems; * How to guide the eyes of your audience; * Why the story counts; * How to make your lectures memorable. This is not a workshop on PowerPoint techniques but on presenting effectively with visual communication. |
